Doug Liman (“Edge of Tomorrow”) directs the movie from a script written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. After producing the original 1989 film, Joel Silver is back producing for his company Silver Pictures along with JJ Hook, Alison Winter and Aaron Auch, who serve as executive producers.
The original film grossed a modest $30 million against a $15 million budget but has since become a cult classic and stands as one of Patrick Swayze’s most beloved roles.

Silver added, “The original’ Road House’ has a special place in my heart, and I am so excited to bring this newly imagined version to audiences around the world.”

He’s a great guy and I feel very honored to have had the opportunity to do that film [Road House] with him and I hope the two of them [Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor] have the same relationship.”
Teague’s stint with Road House came to an end in 1989 itself and the actor won’t be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming film. This also seems like a more sensible and conscious decision by both the makers and the actor himself given how Teague’s character had died in the original film.
The Road House remake will be released on Amazon Prime on March 21, 2024.
